Day 1: Almaty

The tour will start with a car rent drive to the Medeu Gorge (1690 m) in Kazakhstan, which is famous for having the world’s highest mountain skating rink, and then continue with a cable car ride to the Shymbulak ski resort region. Your mountain tour continues at the foot of Kok-Tobe hill, where you will be transported by park eco-cars along a gorgeous winding mountain route. The first leg of the tour concludes with a short ride on the famous Almaty cableway* from the top of the hill to the city center. After lunch, the city portion of the tour begins, with the first stop being Almaty Museum, where you can learn about Kazakhstan’s southern capital’s history. Following the museum, the tour will continue with a brief stop to learn about the architecture and history of the Abai Opera and Ballet Theatre. Then you’ll go to one of Almaty’s oldest parks, the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, where you’ll see Zenkov Cathedral, one of the world’s most beautiful wooden structures. The Green Bazaar, a favorite shopping destination for locals, is the next point of interest. *Please note that the tour is not accessible on Mondays. On Tuesdays, in the tour leaving at 10:00, cableway is not accessible. Transfer to the hotel, check-in. Overnight.

Day 2: Almaty – Ethno village – Almaty

Transfer to ethno-aul after meeting with guide in hotel. On arrival, two warriors dressed in Saka Period armor greet the visitors on a tour, and the hostess greets them with a national rite known as “Shashu.” It entails showering visitors with sweets, similar to how Kazakhs do during weddings. After then, sweets must be collected and kept for good luck. The Kazakhs think that these sweets will bring them good fortune in the future. An understanding of how a Kazakh yurt is built and what it means to a nomad. Acquaintance with traditional Kazakh housekeeping tasks (such as whisking wool, spinning yarn on a spindle, grinding flour by hand, lulling babies in a Besik (cradle), and so on). Performances from the National Horse Games and the traditional Kazakh dance “Kara Zhorga.” After lunch, there will be a national archery master lesson and free time. Transfer to the hotel with best cars for rent. Overnight.

Day 3: Almaty – Issyk Lake – Almaty

The tour route to Issyk Gorge in Kazakhstan, one of the most picturesque gorges in the Trans-Ili Alatau, runs over the Kuldja tract, where trade caravans traveled hundreds of years ago. On the route, stop by the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “ISSYK,” where you may explore exhibits dedicated to the Saka period’s history and culture, including a replica of the Golden Man and golden objects, antique ceramics, weapons, horse equipment, and a model of a Saka burial mound. The tour will next take you to a height of 1756 meters above sea level, to the lovely mountain lake Issyk, which is located in the same-named valley. A major landslide formed the lake 10,000 years ago, resulting in the formation of a 300-meter-high natural dam. While listening to the account of the 1963 natural disaster, you may take in the spectacular beauty of the lake’s turquoise water surface and the Issyk Gorge. You’ll also get lunch and free time at the lake to enjoy the scenery. Return to the city by renting a car on a tour. It’s time to hit the city’s best malls and bazaars for some retail therapy. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4: Almaty – Charyn – Almaty

The Charyn Canyon in Kazakhstan is a yet another natural wonder. The canyon is around 12 million years old and is famed for its towering cliffs that resemble ancient castles carved by wind, sun, and rain. The tour to the canyon in a rental car on a tour will take about 3 hours. Meanwhile, you’ll learn about the region’s history and geography, as well as Kazakh people, their lives, and traditions, while eating lunch in a local cafe. And once you reach Charyn Canyon, you’ll forget about the tour since the canyon’s beauty and grandeur will take your breath away. Explore the Castles Valley maze, which has impenetrable barriers towering over you, before taking in the gorgeous view. Anyone who visits Charyn Canyon falls in love with it and wishes to live there for the rest of their lives! Overnight in the hotel.

Day 5: Flight

Breakfast options are available in the hotel. Check-out must be completed by 12 p.m. Transfer to airport.
